I view this was the cutest bassinet ever, but I read the bad reviews & decided I must see one in person before I buy it. I have to say I am not buying it. It just is not real sturdy and the matress is the really cheap one that comes with your changing table but no one uses. My husband said he could fix all of the problems but for this whole of money I think it should come ready to use. The screw holes are a major eyesore and the wood is flimsy.

I wouldn't purchase again!!! : Badger Basket Company Portable Bassinet 'N Cradle with Toybox Base - White Batiste

I have never written a recite before, but I felt I had to write about this product. The bassinet material is very pretty, but the mesh on the base makes the goods look very cheap and as a matter of fact ruins its appearance. Aside of that, it is the most difficult goods that I have ever put together, and I tend to be quite good at assembly of involved products. The base was very easy to put together, although mine has a small crack (other reviewers had this problem as well) that I don't believe will sway the sturdiness of the bassinet. Once you start putting together the bassinet, however, you will need 2 people to assemble it. The goods is very cheaply made and the parts don't even come close to lining up, so you have to force all in a place and hold it to put the short screws in place with the nuts. This is as a matter of fact impossible to do alone inspecting the nuts have to be located in first because of their shape, then you have to hold the nut, while squeezing the plastic together and screw in the screw with a screwdriver - unless you're as a matter of fact good w/ your toes, forget even attempting it alone. In any case, this goods is not worth the time, money, power or frustration for any person, much less a pregnant woman who just wants a nice goods to have their baby at their side. Don't waste your time - spend the petite extra money for a best product. This one sucks!

***Update: After ultimately getting the thing together, I am fully unhappy with the thin mattress and sheet. The sheet is scratchy and awful, but good luck finding a sheet to fit this bassinet. The size is odd, so it's been impossible to find a replacement sheet that fits. If I could do it over again, I would spend more money and make sure the mattress and sheet are of best capability or at least as a matter of fact replaceable!

beautiful and easy to put together : Badger Basket Elite Oval Baby Bassinet, Cherry with White Eyelet

This bassinet looks lovely in the pictures, and we read reviews considered and ultimately purchased one hoping it would work well to keep our new baby in our room as she slept. It does look pretty, but we without fail experienced some disappointments with this goods that I think you should be aware about before you buy. I wouldn't say "Don't buy this!" but without fail think about it before you buy, and do your research.

My delight with this goods is that it looks pretty and my baby sleeps in it. The fabric all needed to be well ironed before it looked good, as it arrived very wrinkled. We also decided to buy the oval version rather than the round one as this one will fit straight through a accepted doorway whereas the round version won't.

My complaints with this goods are:
- it arrived with a consolidate scratches, although they aren't severe or in determined places
- my husband was assembling this bassinet and realized some of the holes had been pre-drilled incorrectly. I wasn't surprised as I'd absolutely read an additional one reviewer somewhere also say this happened to them. Luckily my husband is a handy man so it didn't set us back...
- the sheet for the pad had a dark stain on the hem (I will be uploading photos, so be sure to look)
- the "mattress" pad is Thin, although I comprehend this is accepted for baby bedding but it was so flimsy that the sheet caused it to buckle just by putting it on
- along the top side of the railing are sharp brassy screws that are eyesores and make this pretty bassinet appear cheaper, I used a white oil-paint pen to cover them up as well as I could and help them blend into the white railing
- the metal arm & hoop that holds the pretty curtain up is incredibly flimsy and ours arrived crooked and just didn't look good. It required bending on our part and also needs to be often adjusted so that it stands straight. Very cheap.
- the "shelf" underneath the bassinet is a nice idea but the board is so flimsy it caves in under the slightest pressure

Just think all these warnings before you buy this bassinet. I absolutely had a hard time seeing Any bassinet on the market without some sketchy reviews, and in the end this bassinet still serves it's purpose and looks pretty. The quality, however, is very lacking. I just hope it continues to be a safe place for my baby to sleep, she's not wiggly or sharp much yet but the ability still makes me a bit nervous.

Update 5/24/11: After 13 weeks of use, not even sharp it out of our room, 3 out of 4 wheels have broken off. 13 week old baby (in 50th percentile) is going to out-grow the bassinet soon, also. Still functions, still very pretty, but not the best quality.
